Stephanie Eason is experienced in transcribing professionally since 1996.  She undertakes a range of typing and audio-typing, and in particular transcribing of broadcast programmes. Stephanie works for the BBC to transcribe radio programmes including programmes made in conjunction with the Open University, transcripts of raw interviews for editing and also confidential transcriptions for legal purposes. She will proof read drafts, correct where necessary and deliver a polished final document.

Her experience includes complex transcripts of BBC Radio science, features and current affairs material. The work produced is based on the principle that we should produce verbatim texts. However, common sense is applied to leave out distracting verbal tics. The work is as accurate as can reasonably be: use of reference works and the internet is utilised to spell check. Anything that cannot be made out is clearly flagged for attention. Additional work has included audio-typing of translations for the Swedish government and conferences for telecommunication companies.

The cost of your commission will depend on the nature of the work and its complexity. Stephanie is more than happy to discuss to enable her to give you a transparent individual quote. For transcribing, which is the bulk of her work, the standard rate for a straightforward good quality recording will be £40 per half hour of audio. Regular commissions are especially welcome.
